Quarterly Member Call

May 21, 2025

This quarter's meeting is particularly timely. Many of us may be aware of the recent rumor last month suggesting a potential revocation of 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status for environmental justice organizations by the current administration. We understand the concern this has generated within our network, especially among those deeply engaged in climate and environmental justice work.

This call is designed to provide clarity, foster connection, and offer a sense of collective grounding as we navigate the path forward together.

Here’s a look at what we discussed:

  • Welcome + Ice-breaker
On a scale of sheep, how do you feel today? 🐑
Facilitated by Paige Hopkins, People’s Climate Innovation Center
  • Presentation by Lawyers for Good Government (10–12 min)
Legal insight into the 501(c)(3) concerns and what it means for our work.
    • Q&A Session (8 min)
  • Collective Reflection: Thoughts, Feelings, Actions (20 min)
    Facilitated by Lisa Fujie
  • Opportunities to Support NACRP Members (10 min)
Facilitated by Corrine Van Hook-Turner, People’s Climate Innovation Center
  • Closing & Next Steps (5 min)

This call was an opportunity not only to address pressing concerns, but also to reinforce the strength and solidarity within our community.
